Please join us on Tuesday, March 4, 2025 as we travel to Albany to demand that they pass the New York Dignity Not Detention Act )! We will be meeting with legislators to ask that they support and cosponsor this legislation to end the state's detention contracts with ICE, which currently enable ICE to use county jails to lock up immigrant New Yorkers.
By shrinking the footprint of detention facilities in the state, the Dignity Not Detention Act will end the practice of profiting from inhumane detention in New York State, and help protect immigrants from separation from their families and communities.
No experience with lobbying is necessary, and training and assistance with transportation to Albany will be provided. Please share your information below to let us know about your interest in participating, and so we can help you join us in Albany!

TENTATIVE Schedule for Tuesday, March 4, 2023:
6:30am -- Buses Depart NYC (location TBD)
9:30am -- MEET -- we will meet in the Legislative Office Building by the area with tables and vending machines
10:00am -- OVERVIEW -- we will give an overview of the day and discuss our collective messaging and strategy (some groups will begin doing drop-ins at at this time, you will receive more information on groups ahead of the advocacy day)
11:00am -- SCHEDULED MEETING, DROP-INS and STAKE-OUTS -- around LOB and Capitol
1:30pm -- LUNCH at the Prime at the Plaza
2:30 pm -- Leave to Head to rally3:00 -- Rally in front of Rensselaer Corrections Facility
4:30pm -- Bus back to NYC (Exact location TBD)

Por favor, únase a nosotros el cuatro de marzo de 2025 en trayecto a Albany, donde exigiremos que aprueben la Ley de Dignidad, no de Detención de Nueva York ( S306/A4354). Nos reuniremos con los legisladores para pedirles que apoyen y co-patrocinen esta legislación para poner fin a los contratos de detención del estado con el ICE, que actualmente permiten al ICE utilizar las cárceles del condado para encerrar a los inmigrantes de Nueva York.
