About this Event
This presentation examines current debates in Norway on the digitalisation of education. It explores how policy intersects with classroom realities and traces the development of digital competence in Norwegian teacher education policies and curricula, with particular attention to the emphasis on computational thinking and programming in the 2020 curriculum. In addition, it addresses the ongoing debate on screen use and the public discourse surrounding it, as well as the responses from the Directorate of Education.
These discussions highlight tensions between screen-reduction policies and the need to foster students’ digital competence and critical thinking skills.
This seminar will also be live streamed via Zoom - please select an 'Online' ticket if you wish to attend remotely.
