Want to see what digitalisation looks like in a high-volume, real-world operation?
Made Smarter East Midlands is giving SME manufacturers the opportunity to visit Amazon’s East Midlands fulfilment centre and see how data systems, analytics, process controls, automation and robotics are used across its operation.
You do not need to be an existing Made Smarter beneficiary to attend.
The visit is open to eligible SME manufacturers based in Derbyshire, Greater Lincolnshire, Leicestershire, Northamptonshire, Nottinghamshire or Rutland.
What you’ll see
During the visit, you’ll get an inside look at how Amazon uses digital technology across its fulfilment operation.
The logistics process
Follow a customer order through six key stages, from goods intake and storage through to picking, packing and dispatch.
Robotics and technology
See how automation and robotics work alongside people to manage large volumes of products efficiently.
Sustainability and community
Learn more about Amazon’s green energy initiatives and its work within local communities.
What you’ll take away
This visit is designed to give you practical inspiration around how digital technology can improve processes, productivity and efficiency within your own business.
