About this Event
The 2025 Annual R. Gerald McMurtry Lecture. Differ We Must shows Lincoln’s life through sixteen encounters, some well-known, some obscure, but all with new significance. As the host of NPR’s Morning Edition for almost two decades, Steve Inskeep has mastered the art of building bridges with constructive debate in interviews; here, he shows his skills in a fresh and compelling narrative of Lincoln’s life. Rich detail and enlightening commentary expand our understanding of a politician who held to his moral compass while navigating between divisive politics, and ultimately succeeded in uniting a nation. This event is sponsored by the Friends of the Lincoln Collection, the ACPL Friends of the Library, and the ACPL Library Foundation. The event will take place in the Main Library Theater.
