Diaspora Showcase Africa "Koras & Guitars"
Join us at the Health Sciences Innovation Building (HSIB) for an unforgettable evening celebrating the rich sounds of Africa with koras and guitars. Experience vibrant melodies and great vibes on October 10, 2026 at 6:00 PM (MST). Diaspora Showcase Africa is produced and directed by Kwevi Quaye, featuring an all-star casts of fashion designers, top models, artists and culinary art.
Starting with award-winning and Vogue/Elle featured designers, Else Hardjopawiro from Suriname and Ghanaian designer Kwame Koranteng. These designers will be joined by Maria K Adeeko from Nigeria with a fashion collection that will be modeled by the "Warrior Chics", a group of breast cancer survivors.
The traditional acoustic music of Africa will be headlined by the Malian Kora instrumentalist, Karamo Susso with master drummer, Alioune Faye, whose recording credits includes, Stevie Wonder Wonder, Peter Gabrielle and Youssou N'Dour.
A delicious Africa cuisine from Egypt, Morocco, Ghana, Nigeria, Benin, Kenya and Zambia will be served at the show.
