Diana Gameros: Music at the Borderlands

Diana Gameros is a singer, songwriter, guitarist, pianist and composer. She was born and raised in Juárez, México and immigrated to the United States as a teenager. Over the last decade in the Bay Area she has released two albums of original songs written in Spanish and English and has been highlighted often by NPR's Tiny Desk concert series, and a documentary film about her was released by KQED in 2020. Her music tells stories of family, migration, and home, and has led her to perform with other prominent performers such as Joan Baez, Natalia Lafourcade, and the San Francisco Symphony. Diana received the 2023 Music Award Grant from the Gerbode Foundation to record a new album at Women’s Audio Mission studio in San Francisco to be released in 2025.

Patrick Wolff is a saxophone and clarinet player with a long history in the jazz scenes of New York city and San Francisco. He has performed or recorded with Matt Wilson, Albert "Tootie" Heath, Grant Stewart, Louis Moholo-Moholo, Dena Derose, and many other jazz greats. With six albums released under his name, Wolff has made his mark as a bandleader with various groups playing his original compositions, and with classic jazz quartets and quintets focused on repertoire of the bebop and hard bop eras.

Gameros and Wolff have been performing together since 2011.

• This is a free community concert and seating is general admission. Seating is limited.

• Performances and screenings in Tateuchi Hall are suitable for ages 7 and up. To ensure the best experience for all guests, children should be able to sit quietly during the performance (approx. one hour).
