Human Beings naturally explore reality, in myriad ways, on many levels. We engage in the experience of being alive and we make sense of it, through talking with friends or mentors, or science, or sharing our creative expression with others. Whether intentionally or not, we are always engaged in a process of understanding.
Sometimes we find ourselves frustrated. We drown in information we can’t make sense of. Or we contemplate something important to us, in the world or in our lives, and start spinning in loops, unable to go deeper. Sometimes we arrive at an understanding, and then we stop the process of exploration, and go around bothering everyone with it our new perspective, trying to get them to agree with us!
This session will explore the practice of diamond inquiry, an orientation to experience that very reliably deepens and unfolds our understanding, in ways that are personally relevant and meaningful.
Diamond inquiry is the primary practice of the Diamond Approach, a contemporary method of inner work and realisation. But it can be learned by anyone with the interest and capacity, and applied to any topic.
The evening will include a short meditation, an introductory talk, a group exercise, and time for questions and discussion.
Teacher bio: Ash Wain is a teacher of the Diamond Approach since 2016, and a student since 1998. He works with groups in Australia and Aotearoa. He has a background in the theatre, and lives in Melbourne with his partner and two children.
