Diabetes Empowerment Education Program (DEEP)

Diabetes Empowerment Education Program (DEEP) is coming to Dr. George W. Davis Senior Center!

Join us for this six (6) week workshop series that will begin on Wednesday, February 26, 2025, at 11:00 AM and will continue to meet weekly until the end date of April 2, 2025.

The Diabetes Empowerment Education program was developed by the University of Illinois at Chicago and is geared towards those who are diabetic, pre-diabetic and non-diabetic seniors (60+) who are interested in prevention.

These are highly interactive workshops that give seniors (60+) resources to help them take control of their health. Topics include how to self-manage diabetes, how to decrease risk factors, how to manage and prevent complications, and much more.

This six (6) week workshop series will meet once a week on Wednesdays for two (2) hours. The meet-up dates are below:

• Wednesday, February 26th from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM
• Wednesday, March 5th from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM
• Wednesday, March 12th from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM
• Wednesday, March 19th from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM
• Wednesday, March 26th from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM
• Wednesday, April 2nd from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM

Those who attend at least five (5) out of the six (6) meet-up dates will receive a take-home resource book, a certificate, and a tote bag of appreciation prizes!
