Dia de Los Muertos Poetry Workshop

This month’s Poetry for the Masses workshop will serve as a celebration of life, dedicated to the remembrance of Dia de los Muertos (Day of the Dead). We will explore the ways language can help us hold, honor, and transform our grief, through our poetry prompts and group discussion, and will learn some ways that we can write about loss – not in sorrow but as a continuation of love. In celebrating the lives and legacies of those who have passed on through art, we will leave with a new perspective on remembrance. Poetry for the Masses is a space for connection and creative healing – no prior writing experience is needed to join. We hope that you can join us for a special evening of poetry, stories, and delicious NA drinks by our sponsor, No Spirit. We will also have pan dulce and other snacks to share.

If this is your first time joining us, welcome! Poetry for the Masses was created in March of 2024 by writer Alejandra Roggero with the intention of fostering a poetry community that made poetry workshops and the radical joy of art accessible to ALL. We’re doing just that. For the last few months, we’ve joined forces with Burden of Proof, a non alcoholic bottle shop and market located in the heart of South Pasadena… and we’re so happy about it!
