Día de los Muertos, or Day of the Dead, is a holiday celebrated in Mexico and other parts of Latin America on November 1 and 2 to honor the deceased and celebrate their memory. The holiday is a combination of the ancient Aztec custom of honoring ancestors and All Souls' Day, a Catholic holiday brought to Mexico by Spanish invaders in the 1500s. It's a time for family and friends to remember and reunite with their loved ones who have passed away.
