An Interactive Musical Journey Full of Surprises - and Prizes!The Downers Grove Choral Society invites you to join us for an exciting and imaginative musical experience. This high-energy concert invites listeners to imagine the sights and stops of an adventurer through contemporary and multicultural choral music. The first half of the program is “classified,” with no songs listed in the program book. Instead, audience members are encouraged to use their creativity, doodling or writing their ideas about the adventurer’s journey. Participants will be entered into a raffle prize drawing at intermission.
In the “unclassified” second half, the adventure continues with a lineup of engaging and entertaining pieces. Highlights include music from the movie The Hobbit (featuring a song by Ed Sheeran), the theme from the video game Civilization VI, the delightful Nonsense Songs from Alice in Wonderland, and Measure Me Sky by rising contemporary composer Elaine Hagenberg.
“This concert is designed to appeal to a wide range of audiences, from those who love classical music to those who resonate with movies and games,” says Lori Bush Shepard, President of the Downers Grove Choral Society. “It’s a celebration of storytelling and creativity through music, and we’re thrilled to invite our community to share in this unique experience.”
