All families impacted are invited to join the rally on Dexter Wade Day, November 20, 2025, with a rally and press conference on the steps of the Jackson Police Department.
Those families and individuals impacted by police violence will join with fellow impacted families to learn, ask questions and build relationships with each other, elected officials, organizers, legal civil rights leaders and the mother of Dexter Wade, Bettersten Wade. Dexter was killed by a Jackson, MS police officer and buried in an unmarked while his family searched for him. Dexter's mother was awarded an annual day, November 20th, in recognition by the City of Jackson to show the beginning of their willingness to give an annual report of the changes that have been made to respect the remains of those killed by police.
