About this Event
Devolution at 25: Understanding and addressing educational inequalities
Executive Room B, Technology and Innovation Centre, University of Strathclyde
The Economics Observatory is holding three events to mark 25 years of devolution. The chief aim of these events is to be forward looking and stimulate debate as to how we create prosperous Northern Irish, Scottish, and Welsh economies.
The Glasgow event, on Monday 20 May, will focus on inequalities in education in Scotland and the other devolved nations, how we can measure them and polices to help close existing gaps. It will take place from 2pm to 4.30pm (with refreshments available from 1.45pm) and will be hosted in collaboration with the University of Glasgow and University of Strathclyde.
Sessions at the event will discuss insights from the IFS Deaton Review, issues around measurement of educational success and policies that work to close attainment gaps.
