Christmas is coming, so come join us for our party of the year. Killer original funk and soul 45’s all night, as is our custom.
We’re using December as a chance to say thank you for your years of support and friendship. We have a wicked little family and are very grateful to you all, so we’ve pushed the boat out to bring you two of the finest DJ's from the UK funk and soul scene.
First up: Mr JOHN STAPLETON.
Owner of the hugely respected WANTED RECORDS store in Bristol, the man that has played Glastonbury music festival more times than we can count, hosts his own monthly radio show, resident at LA BOMBA, ex resident of GO GO CHILDREN, guest spots at many, many other landmark nights, and also the owner of possibly the biggest collection of Afro-funk music in the UK.
He will without doubt be bringing some of the rarest and most sought after funk records on the planet, so please be warned - it will be badass.
Next is a very close friend of ours, winner of an esteemed Mixcloud award for his outstanding “Straight From The Playbox “ series, which saw DJ’s from around the world literally queuing up to get their mixes up on his channel. Also an original member of DYNAMITE SOUL, was our first guest ever way back in 2018, and known worldwide as a don of rare funk and soul 45’s. He barely plays out these days, so we are very lucky to welcome back the one and only Mr KIERAN LOCKYEAR.
We'll be in our usual beloved venue - Sotano.
Deep down in the basement with its thumping sound system, huge selection of drinks, friendly staff and air con, you can party on in style. Couple that with our mint atmosphere, mosh-pit dance floor, and people who leave their attitudes at the door. You're guaranteed a funk night like no other. Trust us.
