Developing Effective Knowledge Engagement and Impact

This training day comprises of a workshop in the morning and scheduled appointments for individual filming after lunch. Refreshments will be available from 9.30am, and the workshop will commence at 10.00am.

In the workshop, session attendees will be introduced to key aspects of knowledge exchange. They will be guided through a structured process for developing a knowledge exchange and impact strategy for their research agenda. They will conduct a stakeholder analysis for their research project and identify actions and activities for effective knowledge exchange. Embedding research impact across research projects will be discussed as well as effective mechanisms for doing this.

Those attending the morning workshop will be given the opportunity to create a short (3 minute) high quality ‘talking head’ video in which they provide an overview of their research. This output can then be used by them as a resource for stakeholder engagement. Technical support will be available to do this.

By the end of the knowledge exchange workshop, attendees will be able to:

• identify the key features of knowledge exchange, knowledge dissemination and research impact
• apply this taxonomy to their research
• develop a knowledge exchange strategy and mapping for their research project
