About this Event

Who: Arthur Reinhard Böhner was born in 1954. As a child, he was a member of the Leipzig Radio Children’s Choir. Since then, he has enjoyed singing with his family and, from time to time, in choirs. From 1994 to 1998, he lived in Kaiapoi on the South Island, and has been living in Auckland for the past year and a half.

What: Reinhard will sing the first verses of the folk songs and tell a short story for each song (e.g. origin, meaning, translation of old words). The song lyrics will be printed out for attendees to sing/hum along if they wish to. There will be 6-7 folk songs, some to be sung with piano keyboard accompaniment and some together with the audience. The lyrics will be explained in English.
