Join Vesper Books and Wine for an evening celebrating the people behind some of the city's most beloved bakeries, cafés, and kitchens. For one special night, we've invited a collection of our favorite culinary neighbors to fill our shelves and tables with fresh pastries, beautiful breads, cookies, cakes, bagels, and other irresistible baked goods—all in support of a meaningful cause.

Think of it as your favorite neighborhood bake sale, just reimagined a bit. Wander from table to table, discovering limited-run pastries, signature sweets, and fresh-from-the-oven specialties, while meeting the talented bakers and makers who help define Detroit's food scene and helping support a paramount organization within the city.
Founded in 1983, Freedom House Detroit is a temporary home and lifetime community for people from across the globe who are seeking humanitarian protection in the United States and Canada. These individuals and families have been forcibly displaced due to persecution, torture, social or political upheaval, or natural disaster. Freedom House has remained a full-service provider for persons seeking humanitarian protection, providing community housing, legal aid, and access to medical and mental health care.
Admission
Admission is $5 per person, with 100% of admission proceeds donated directly to Freedom House, supporting its mission to provide welcome, safety, and essential services to refugees, asylum seekers, and others rebuilding their lives in Metro Detroit.
To create a relaxed shopping experience, admission is offered in two timed entries:
6:00 PM — 50 spots available
7:00 PM — 50 spots available
A Few Things to Know
- Your $5 ticket is your admission to the event.
- Baked goods will be available for purchase with tickets directly from each participating business. Each ticket with cost $5 and are available for purchase in bundles at the door.
- Vesper's wine bar will be open throughout the evening, serving wine, beer, cocktails, and non-alcoholic beverages while you shop.
- Quantities are limited, and many items are expected to sell out.
