The beginning of August, Detective Rian Bell was diagnosed with stage 3, Colorectal Cancer that has spread into several of his lymph nodes. Rian will be receiving extensive treatments at Penn Medicine Hospital in Philadelphia, which will consist of 3 plus months of chemotherapy, followed by approx. 5.5 weeks of radiation chemotherapy. To try and offset some of the costs that Rian and his family are going to endure over the next several months, The Derry Township Police Department and Dale Nelson Jr., Bering Real Estate Company will co-sponsor "The Detective Rian Bell Beat Cancer" Kauffman’s BBQ Chicken fundraiser will be held on Saturday, October 18, 2025, from 11:00am to 2:00pm.
Rian is a marine veteran, has been a member of the Derry Township Police Department for 17 years and has 3 wonderful children.
