DESTINATION FORGEBorn in 2019 as ROCKIN THE BOWL - FORGED IN HELL, our festival re-imagined open-air rock in Sheffield’s Don Valley, firing up the furnaces of the Steel City and earning critical acclaim from fans, bands and press for its raw energy and industrial feel.
Now, having reached its destination, Rockin the Bowl evolves into DESTINATION festival - an identity that honours the journey we’ve taken and the community that’s fuelled our ascent. This new chapter reflects our core values: authenticity, independence, and that electrifying spirit that only live music can deliver.
DESTINATION will bring you plenty of top-notch bands for your aural pleasure. We remain, as always, inclusive and welcome the young generation of rock fans to our events too. Join us as we embark on the next leg of our voyage - louder, prouder, and more unforgettable than ever.
What to expect on the day:
Headliner - H.E.A.T
Sweden’s high‑voltage hard rock powerhouse H.E.A.T are coming to DESTINATION! Known for their explosive blend of hard rock, glam metal and melodic anthems, H.E.A.T deliver the kind of high‑octane, big‑chorus energy that is guaranteed to make the event loud, fast, and unforgettable.
Special Guest - CHEZ KANE
Chez performed at the very first Rockin the Bowl in 2019 with her wonderful band Kane'd. Since then we've been hoping she'll join us again and finally we are proud to welcome her back to our stage at our new home - The Forge.
BLACK LAKES
Black Lakes fuse alt‑metal, post‑grunge and atmospheric rock into a dark, cinematic sound that hits with real emotional weight. Their soaring vocals and heavy riffs have earned them a reputation as one of the UK’s most compelling rising live acts. Expect intensity, melody and a brooding, modern edge.
DOBERMANN
Now you may not have seen these guys yet because they are Italy based and mostly perform all over Europe. We were so lucky to bag them for the show. Check them out - their music is high-octane rock and roll, totally unapologetic and in your face. Perfect party band.
JULIET'S NOT DEAD
Juliet’s Not Dead are an adrenaline fuelled, modern hard rock band, driven by the sole intention of thrilling their audiences at each and every show.
JOANOVARC
Our good friends from JOANovARC will bring their new singles, including ‘Hey Sister’ to the Forge. We first hosted them at the 2021 event on the Mikey Lawless stage and they stole everyone’s hearts. They’ve been touring and working hard over the last few years and most of you will know them as playing banging tunes and bringing raw emotion to the stage.

‘PEASANTS!!’ You hear them yell and their pagan metal call shakes the FORGE. Unique bands don’t come about often and these guys are this and more. For those who have had the pleasure of seeing them at Breaking Bands or Bloodstock this year (or elsewhere, they’ve been busy) you’ll know what we are talking about and why we are so excited to welcome them to DESTINATION. One not to be missed.
THE RATTLEBACKS
Something new to the Sheffield scene, hailing all the way from Brighton, we bring you the incredible 5-piece will turn heads on the day. We’re welcoming a few old friends to play at DESTINATION this year and we can’t wait for us and you guys to make friends with The Rattlebacks. Bring it on!
ADAM AND THE HELLCATS
Self-confessed crazy kids living on the heavier side of life, the Hellcats are no strangers to Sheffield. It’s their first time on the DESTINATION stage but with their crowd-pleasing tunes and unique performance and vibe, it will not be the last. A special guest, you ask? We can’t tell you just yet, but you will be absolutely over the moon when you find out in due course. We like a good mystery :)
COMPERE: PETE K MALLY
A DESTINATION (formerly Rockin the Bowl) favourite, Pete K Mally is a stand‑up comic, rock author and one of the UK’s top festival comperes, known for his quick wit and engaging crowd work. He will once more bring his unique mix of boundless energy, sharp humour and seamless hosting to the DESTINATION stage.
