Indulge your creativity in this sweet and calming 2-hour watercolour workshop, where we paint charming dessert-inspired illustrations — think pastries, cakes, tarts, ice cream, and more. Whether you're new to watercolour or looking to deepen your practice, this session blends gentle guidance with playful exploration.

Perfect for beginners and hobbyists, you’ll learn how to capture the soft textures, pastel tones, and delicate shapes that make desserts so delightful.

Come as you are — all art materials are provided. Just bring your curiosity and a love for sweet things!

• Basic watercolour techniques for painting soft gradients and juicy colours
• How to simplify desserts into shapes, contours, and expressive lines

10:00 – Welcome & Warm-Up
Quick mark-making and colour swatch play inspired by dessert tones.

10:15 – Demo: Painting Delicious Textures
Learn techniques for creaminess, shine, icing, crisp edges, and soft blends.

10:30 – Guided Dessert Painting
Step-by-step creation of a small dessert illustration.

11:00 – Create Your Own Dessert Artwork
Choose from provided reference images or mix and match your favourites.

11:45 – Wrap-Up & Share
Final touches, group appreciation, and photos of your sweet creations.

12:00 – Finish

Do I need experience?
Not at all — this workshop is perfect for beginners and all levels.

What do I need to bring?
All art materials are provided. You’re welcome to bring a favourite dessert or a photo reference if you like (optional).

Where is the session held?
At Melbourne Central Skybridge. Full directions will be emailed 2 days before the workshop.

How many participants?
The class is capped at 6 people for personalised guidance.

Is it child-friendly?
Yes, suitable for ages 12+. Younger participants must attend with an adult.

Can I reschedule or get a refund?

Directions to "The Between" Skybridge at Melbourne Central

1. Enter Melbourne Central via Swanston St, La Trobe St, or Elizabeth St.
2. Head to Level 1 and find the CUE store (Shop 123/211 La Trobe St).
3. Walk a little further down the corridor.
4. You’ll see "The Between" Skybridge — a glass bridge linking Melbourne Central to Emporium Melbourne over Lonsdale Street.

You are welcome to bring your favourite dessert to eat and /or photo to paint.
