This event builds upon the work started by the Arts in Action project, a collaboration between the DeKalb County History Center and Ellwood House. As this conversation is taking place at the History Center which is currently hosting their “Food: Gathering Around the Table” exhibit, it provides the perfect opportunity to gather people together, enjoy dessert, and have a meaningful conversation.
Leading this discussion will be Jonelle Bailey, Executive Director of the Sycamore Park District, known for her leadership in community building and Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging (DEIB) work. The evening will emphasize the importance of not just understanding DEIB principles but actively applying them in our daily lives. Participants will explore how small, everyday actions can contribute to creating a more inclusive and welcoming community for all.
