Design, Print, Create: A Digital Fabric Design Workshop

Whether you're an artist, designer, or curious beginner, this workshop will empower you to create unique, professional-quality textile patterns and explore their endless possibilities.

Workshop 1: Digital Design Mastery

Dive into the world of digital fabric design using Procreate. Learn how to craft seamless repeating patterns from scratch or transform your existing artwork into striking motifs. We'll guide you through the essentials of great textile design, from colour harmony to layout techniques, helping you develop your own signature style. By the end of this session, you'll have a ready-to-print pattern that reflects your creative vision.

Workshop 2: From Fabric to Finished Projects

Receive your custom-printed fabric and discover how to bring it to life! In this session, we’ll cover the basics of working with patterned textiles, including tips for cutting, aligning, and sewing. Whether you’re a sewing novice or looking to refine your skills, you’ll create one to two simple projects—such as a tote bag, cushion cover, or even a wearable piece—that showcase your unique design.

What You’ll Take Away:

• Your very own digitally designed and professionally printed fabric.
• One to two completed projects featuring your custom fabric.
• The skills and confidence to continue designing and creating your own textiles.

No prior experience in digital design or sewing is required—just bring your imagination and enthusiasm! If you have not completed The Edge Sewing Induction, we will make sure to provide you with one as part of this workshop series.

This is a two-part workshop and it is expected you will attend both Saturday sessions as they build upon each other.

Participants must be over 16 years of age.
