Design + Architecture: 5-day Camp (Jul)

A 5-day Holiday Camp designed for children to explore various make and build projects; to test ideas through hands-on exploration, training dexterity, creative and critical thinking while learning new skills.

On Day 1 and 2, students will Design My Room and be introduced to floor layout planning, furniture types, materials, colors and textures to personalize and decorate their personal bedroom spaces.

Students will learn model-making techniques and get creative transforming everyday materials into their own unique bedroom model prototype.

On Day 3, Students will Build an Eco-City prototype and be introduced to sustainable city planning strategies to design a sustainable and livable city that is well-connected ensuring necessities like water, food, good healthcare and education are easily accessible.

Students will learn a well-designed city is less reliant on cars, where walking and cycling are the main ways of getting around, thus promoting a human- centric urban environment.

Collectively, their individual Eco-Town/ Neighborhood will form an overall Eco-City.

For the last 2 days of the week, students will Build an Eco-Home prototype and be introduced to various environmentally sustainable building design strategies and learning how to keep their home design energy efficient. Students will also learn about materials and how to use resources in a responsible manner.

DesignTinkers camps are specially designed and led by instructors who are architects, designers and educators with the passion and experience of working with young children to nurture their creative interests. Camps are held in our spacious and conducive classroom for kids to create and explore freely under guidance.

Note: If arriving by car, there is direct drop-off to the centre at Level 4 Carpark.
