Design a Home: 3-day Camp (12-16yo) Dec

In this immersive 3-day workshop, students will experience the design process of a project from scratch. They will be introduced to the key stages of the Design Thinking methodology, gaining a deeper understanding of how to identify user needs and define real-world challenges. The workshop begins with 2D floor plan layouts before progressing to building up their designs in 3D, bringing their ideas to life through hands-on, iterative exploration.

Layout Planning

Formulate design brief for their house and building up the design

Students will translate their 2D planning to 3D model with consideration for architectural scale, light, ventilation, views and garden landscape areas in their home design.

Learn model making techniques to build design from scratch

Upon completing their home prototype, students will be introduced to tools and techniques to graphically lay out their presentation board in preparation for a Design Crit, a simulated presentation format common to architecture students.

The project completed at the workshop can be included in student’s portfolio preparation.

For students interested to further studies in architecture, we will provide insights into the different pathways—from Diploma to Undergraduate and Master's programs—to help them understand the unique nature of architectural pedagogy. We will also explore the wide range of career options available, equipping them with the knowledge to make informed decisions about embarking on the extensive journey of architectural education.

Note: Students to bring their personal laptop to work on their digital presentation layout on the 3rd day of workshop.
