Derek is a genre bending singer-songwriter who found his roots in La Crosse, WI, where he played in a stripped down string band. While living in La Crosse, Derek won the Great River Folk Festival singer-songwriter award. It was after this that Derek went on to form Raising Red and has since released 2 studio albums with his bandmates. Derek has opened up for the Bellamy Brothers, Nelson, Cole Ritter and the Night Owls, and Wayland while performing in clubs, wineries, and dive bars throughout the Midwest. Gritty americana with rocky undertones and a pop-influence that comes from being a 90s kid.
