Derbyshire Business Networking with Derby College Group

This interactive networking event is designed to help Derby College business students prepare for future work life by experiencing professional networking in a supportive, real-world setting.

Local business owners and professionals are invited to take part in a live networking exercise, supporting students as they develop confidence, communication skills and professional presence.
You will also get the opportunity to meet many other business owners during the event.

Info: Introduction and presentation:
Jonathan Leach of Derbyshire Business Networking will start the event with an introduction to what business networking is, why it matters, and an overview of the employers attending.
Live networking exercise (approx. 1 hour):
Students will rotate around tables and also stand, spending approximately five minutes networking with each business representative.
Employers will observe and provide feedback on:
Communication skills
Confidence
Business networking skills
Genuine interest and engagement
Ability to build rapport
Feedback and reflection.
