☀️ Derby Women’s Circle: A Midsummer Celebration

Honoring the Sun, the Earth, and Each Other

As the wheel turns toward Midsummer, the Derby Women’s Circle is moving outdoors! This is the time of Litha—the longest day of the year—when the sun reaches its highest point in the sky. It is a season of strength, growth, and the vibrant abundance of nature.

We invite you to join us in the beautiful Allestree park, where we will rest, reconnect, and simply be ourselves alongside the trees, long grasses and woodwide web beneath us. Whether you are looking for deep reflection or the simple joy of sharing space with a supportive community, there is space for you here.

This gathering will be a little different to our usual circle. Solstice is a time to celebrate! You'll be invited to make nature crowns (instructions and materials will be provided).

We have two wonderful local women offering readings. We'll aim for a 50/50 between each, ensuring everyone has the opportunity for some clarity and direction through their gifts.

Sally Foster-Ward joining us to offer nature readings. Sally uses the beauty and surrounding nature to provide clarity and direction. Summer solstice is a time to celebrate the light, energy, and abundance of nature. Sally will be offering guidance and upliftment in this special time of year.

Angela Sandland, also known as DeerHeart Woman, will be offering animal spirit readings through energetic touch. Ange uses intuitive guidance to connect you with animal totems or spirit guides. These guides provide symbolic messages about your strengths, personal growth, and current life path. They can offer clarity during life transitions and help you tap into your intuition

Having a reading is purely optional with no pressure or offence taken if you decide this isn't for you. The offer of a reading is included at no extra cost. There's only enough time to have one reading each - sorry that you need to choose betwene these two fantastic offerings! You can see which one your drawn to on the night. To accomodate everyone and run smoothly, we will need an even split of people between Sally and Ange.

Each gathering is unique, but our circles will include:

• A Warm, Inclusive Environment: We are proudly LGBT+ inclusive and welcome women from all walks of life.
• Nature-Inspired Connection: Our practice is guided by the rhythms of the earth and the themes of the summer solstice.
• Grounding & Meditation: A guided meditation and body scan to help you root into the moment.
• Conversation & Tea: Space to share, reflect, and enjoy a warm herbal brew under the evening sky.

🎒 Your Midsummer Checklist

To stay comfortable as we celebrate outdoors, please bring the following:

• Comfort: Something to sit or lie on (fold-up chair, blanket, or yoga mat for the meditation - I have spares!).
• A Mug: For herbal tea.
• Hydration: Water or your choice of a cold drink.
• Layers: Whatever the British summertime demands! Think jumpers for when the sun goes down or a waterproof just in case.

No prior experience or knowledge is needed—just a willingness to show up as you are.
