Rockford Park District’s Lockwood Park invites the community out to the country for its Derby Day activities.
Since May 2 is Kentucky Derby day, attendees are encouraged to wear fancy hats!
Free activities include visiting the Sarver Children’s Farm barn, a petting zoo, oxen demonstrations, and more.
Atwood Park staff will be at the event with a FREE Birds of Prey show in the tent near the Big Country Shelter from 2:15 pm to 2:45 pm.
Paid activities include wagon rides, pony rides, riderless pony races, and horseback trail rides., face painting. Tickets for pony rides and face painting are only available for purchase at the event.
