Dress in your finest Derby fashion and enjoy an afternoon of luxury, live entertainment, and cultural appreciation as we pay tribute to the Black pioneers who helped shape one of the most revered sporting events in the world.
Hosted by ROO Nation Entertainment in partnership with the EKKO Lounge Dallas, this unforgettable event blends history, style, music, and the thrill of the 152nd Kentucky Derby, simulcast live.
A Salute to Black Excellence | Historical Tribute
While known as "The Most Exciting Two Minutes in Sports," the Kentucky Derby's legacy is deeply rooted in Black history.
The first Kentucky Derby took place on May 17, 1875, hosted by Meriwether Lewis Clark, Jr. Of the 15 jockeys in that inaugural race, 13 were black. The first five winning jockeys of the Kentucky Derby were all Black, including the very first winner, Oliver Lewis, who rode Aristides to victory.
Beyond jockeys, Black Excellence shaped every aspect of Derby racing - from trainers, grooms, hot walkers, exercise riders, farriers, and caretakers - whose daily dedication prepared these magnificent horses for greatness.

What to Expect
- General Admission provides access to EKKO Lounge and multiple viewing screens for the Derby simulcast
- Free parking available, with Valet and VIP parking onsite.
- Upscale atmosphere, luxury service, and vibrant entertainment throughout the event
- All guest must purchase at least a General Admission ticket
- Tickets must be purchased online via Eventbrite
- Tickets must be printed and presented at entry
- Each ticket includes a unique barcode and may only be scanned once
- No replacement tickets will be issued on the day of the event
- Reserved seating and booth details will be provided upon purchase or request
- All attendees will receive a wristband upon entry and must wear at all times to access Derby Day Dallas events and amenities.
