Please join us in the Main Library's Story Center for a reception marking the opening of Depth of Field: The Universe of the Daguerreotype, an exhibit that is part of the FotoFocus Biennial. Using Fontayne and Porter's 1848 Cincinnati Riverfront Panorama as a focal point, the exhibit discusses not only the human stories that continue to surface and inform, but also the chemical processes within the plates themselves that impact their preservation.
Depth of Field: The Universe of the Daguerreotype is part of the 2024 FotoFocus Cincinnati Biennial: backstories. Now in its seventh iteration, the Biennial activates over 100 projects at museums, galleries, universities, and public spaces throughout Greater Cincinnati, Dayton, Columbus, and Northern Kentucky in October 2024.
