About this Event
Important Parking Information: Visiting employees and business guests can park at the REVE garage, which is a mixed use / apartment building across the street from the Pearl campus. Upon receiving a parking ticket, employees can submit for an electronic validation at go/bld-validation. Validation must be submitted on the same day and is available Monday to Friday between the hours of 8AM-4PM MT. Guests, please reach out to your Google host to have your parking validated. In addition to this REVE garage, all employees and guests (social or business) are still able to park at the 3333 Walnut surface parking lot. Please note that this entrance is only accessible when traveling north on 30th St. If you are traveling south on 30th, make a u-turn at Canyon St. to head north. Once you have turned right into the alleyway, the underground garage is straight ahead. Push the button to get a ticket. Please bring the ticket with you into the office.
Topic:
Hear how Google's decades-long investment in Artificial Intelligence research is reversing the classic "Defender's Dilemma" and granting superpowers to security operations teams. This session, led by a security expert who has spent the last decade helping movie studios radically transform their businesses, will share Google Cloud's vision for infusing AI into IT operations in a thoughtful, responsible manner. Attend this session to learn about specific security concerns enterprises have when launching AI programs of their own, and to understand how Google's continued innovation will pave the way toward an autonomous future.
Speaker: Toby Scales
Toby is an Advisor in Google Cloud’s Office of the CISO, and an outspoken advocate for change in the motion picture industry.
While productions become increasingly decentralized and global operations, his emphasis is on building security into every step of the supply chain. At the same time, new technologies like Generative AI are completely disrupting traditional pipelines. Integrating these advances safely and frictionlessly in support of the creative process– that is his mission.
At Google, Toby works with the largest and most innovative studios and production companies on the planet, advising on security strategy across both the content and traditional enterprise domains.
Prior to Google, Toby worked at Microsoft where he spent five years bringing industry solutions to the Azure cloud. Some of the projects he worked on there include Avid’s Edit On-demand and Dreamworks’s cloud-based animation pipeline.
Before joining Microsoft: Toby built and sold a consulting agency in Seattle, oversaw the cloud and acquisition strategy for an MSP in New York, and worked as a Senior Architect at OmnicomMediaGroup.
In all his work, Toby is guided by a simple maxim: build systems like you won’t be there to support them; build relationships like you will.
