About this Event
Welcome to the Denton County Chapter Texas Independence Day Celebration!
Come join us at The Rackhouse for to celebrate Texas Independence Day.
In 1900, the Ex-Students Association (Texas Exes) adopted a resolution which states: "Whenever two Texas Exes shall meet on March 2, they all shall sit and break bread and pay tribute to the institution that made their education possible."
March 2nd holds special significance as the day that commemorates the founding of The University of Texas. Established through the Texas Constitution of 1876, the university was envisioned as a “university of the first class,” dedicated to the promotion of literature, the arts, sciences, and more.
We'll gather to honor the legacy of the university’s founding, and recognize the role The University of Texas has played in shaping both the state of Texas and the lives of its alumni.
Light bites will be provided by the chapter board.
The Rackhouse is a Longhorn-owned business and a proud sponsor of our chapter's scholarship fund.
