Dive into the world of Mary Queen of Scots and the M**der of her aide, Rizzio, with author Denise Mina.
About this Event

Join us for a discussion with acclaimed author Denise Mina as she delves into her latest work, 'Rizzio'.

In March 1566, Mary Queen of Scots' secretary, David Rizzio, was murdered in Holyrood Palace while the pregnant monarch watched in horror. Rizzio, known as Mary's close confidant and a central figure in Scotland's sectarian conflict, wielded powerful influence over the 16th-century Scottish court.

His dramatic life and tragic death have inspired countless paintings, operas, poems, and musical compositions, profoundly impacting Scottish culture.

In 'Rizzio', through meticulous research and masterful storytelling, Mina presents a tense and captivating tale of sex, secrets, and lies. She explores the lengths to which men and women will go in their quest for love and power.
