Denim Reimagined: Upcycled Tote Bag Class
About this Event
Give your worn-out jeans a second life in an intimate, fully guided upcycling workshop.
Instead of letting old denim end up in a landfill, turn it into a stylish, durable, and completely unique tote bag. With a tiny class size capped at just 4 people, you’ll get personalized, one-on-one instruction through every step of the process—from deconstruction to final stitching.
What You’ll Learn & Do
- Tailored Deconstruction: Learn how to safely disassemble denim to maximize fabric and save cool features like pockets, seams, and waistband details.
- Custom Layout Design: Get personal guidance on designing your bag's shape and layout based on your specific jeans.
- Denim Sewing Mastery: Work directly with the instructor to master heavy-duty needles, thick seams, and machine settings for denim.
- Assembly & Finishing: Build a sturdy main body, attach durable handles, and finish your bag to a professional standard.
What to Bring
- 1–2 Pairs of Old Jeans: Non-stretch or low-stretch adult jeans work best so you have plenty of fabric. Wear and fraying add great character!
- Optional Accents: Any patches, trims, or special lining fabric you'd like to use.
Note: Individual sewing machines, heavy-duty needles, thread, cutting tools, pins, and extra structural supplies are fully provided.
Who This Is For
Beginners to Intermediate. Whether you are still getting comfortable with a sewing machine or looking to refine your upcycling skills, the 4-person setting ensures the pace adapts to your experience level.
