About this Event
Welcome to Demystifying boards!
Would you like to contribute to your community? Are you curious about how organisations are run and what goes on behind the scenes of their boards? Have you wondered why people might join a board and what you might gain from it? Would you like to know what support is available to help you join a board? Join us for this free online event where we will demystify the world of boards and learn about what skills are valuable to a board.
This event is particularly focussed on refugees, people seeking asylum, migrant and New Scots interested in joining a board.
During the event you will hear from Julie-Anne Jamieson, immediate past president of Changing the Chemistry, Mahdi Saki , Programme Development Officer (Refugees and Asylum Seekers) at the Mental Health Foundation, and also Sami Gichki, an asylum seeker with varied board experience including Co-chair #iWill Movement.
