On the eve of a dramatic presidential election on Nov. 5, in the wake of convulsive threats to democratic rule, U.S. Ambassador to Canada David Cohen is coming to the TMU Democracy Forum. Bring your questions as he talks about bilateral ties and shares an American perspective on how Canadians see his country from here.

ABOUT OUR GUEST
David L. Cohen has been U.S. Ambassador to Canada since 2021, when he was appointed by President Joe Biden and received unanimous Senate confirmation. A former chief of staff to the Mayor of Philadelphia, he later worked as a negotiator, lawyer and communications consultant in the private sector. He graduated from University of Pennsylvania Law School and has a B.A. from Swarthmore College.
ABOUT THE MODERATOR
Martin Regg Cohn is a political columnist at the Toronto Star. He is the founder of the Democracy Forum at Toronto Metropolitan University, and a Senior Fellow at the Dais. A foreign correspondent for 11 years in Asia and the Middle East, he was also Foreign Editor and a Parliamentary correspondent. He is also a Senior Fellow at the Munk School of Global Affairs and Public Policy at the University of Toronto.
