About this Dish: Transport yourself to the snowy mountains of northern Italy with this Milano-Cortina class! Spaetzle is a rustic style of egg-based pasta loved in the northern region of Alto Adige, where German cuisine has a strong influence. For this ultra-comforting recipe, spaetzle is tossed with butter and another Alto Adige favorite: speck. In this class, you’ll make your own pasta dough from scratch.
About this Topic: A rustic pasta commonly associated with Germany, Spaetzle is very popular in the northern areas of Südtirol and Trentino-Alto Adige. Made with just three ingredients, this short, irregularly shaped pasta is often prepared with rich butter and speck, a comforting, easy-to-make dish for cold winter days.
In this Class You Will:
- Learn about the traditions and culture of Südtirol, Trentino-Alto Adige, and Alpine Italy
- Observe as our Scuola Chef teaches the group how to make Spaetzle Burro e Speck
- Enjoy a menu featuring an antipasto and wine pairing, as well as Spaetzle Burro e Speck with its own wine pairing
- Take home the menu and/or recipe(s) from the class
