Dementia Friendly Tea with a PonyHosted by The Palomino Trust – Supporting Wellbeing
Join us for a gentle and welcoming experience where community, conversation, and the calming presence of animals come together.
Our Dementia Friendly Tea with a Pony sessions offer a relaxed opportunity to enjoy a cup of tea, a slice of cake, and some special time with Sidney the therapy pony. These sessions are designed to create a warm, supportive environment where people can slow down, share stories, and enjoy meaningful moments together.
While the sessions are dementia friendly, they are not exclusively for people living with dementia. We warmly welcome individuals who may be living with health conditions, disabilities, memory difficulties, loneliness, or those who would simply benefit from a calm and inclusive social environment.
Family members, carers, and companions are very welcome to attend alongside participants. We understand that attending activities together can make experiences more comfortable and enjoyable for everyone.
What to Expect
During the session you can enjoy:
• A relaxed, friendly atmosphere
• Tea and refreshments, including a piece of cake
• The opportunity to meet and spend time with Sidney the therapy pony
• Gentle conversation and social connection
• A chance to reminisce, share stories, and create new memories
Sidney has a wonderfully calm and gentle nature and often brings smiles, curiosity, and moments of connection for those who spend time with him.
For many people, especially those living with dementia, time spent with animals can help to:
• Encourage conversation and social interaction
• Spark memories and emotional responses
• Reduce anxiety and promote relaxation
• Create meaningful shared moments with loved ones
Most importantly, the sessions are about enjoying simple moments together in a supportive and welcoming space.
