Demasiado Humano is the project of Dallas-based producer and musician Spencer Kenney. Using custom-built decks, his sets are performed entirely on tape, drawing from a personal archive of cumbia, salsa, experimental jazz, funk, dark wave and other rhythms.
Using modified cassette decks, Demasiado Humano turns tape into the instrument, building sets from a deep collection of cassettes and mixing them live, hiss and all.
Demasiado Humano es el proyecto del productor y músico Spencer Kenney, radicado en Dallas. Utilizando decks de cassette construidos a medida, sus sets se realizan íntegramente en cinta, recorriendo un archivo personal de cumbia, salsa, jazz experimental, funk, dark wave y otros ritmos.
A través de decks modificados, Demasiado Humano convierte el cassette en instrumento. Sus sesiones se construyen a partir de una extensa colección de cintas, mezcladas en vivo y preservando la textura, la saturación y el hiss propios del formato análogo.
