About this Event
Join us for a screening of the documentary "Delivering While Black" followed by a Q & A with Director and Producer Amanda Rostic (MPH, GVSU '17) and documentary participants. Register online to receive free parking and other event details.
From the film's website: "There are stark and undeniable differences in maternal and infant outcomes between Black birthing people and White birthing people in the USA. Delivering While Black is a short documentary focused on birth justice in Grand Rapids, MI. These statistics are more than just numbers: these are real lives impacted and unjustly lost due to systemic and institutionalized racism." Learn more by accessing a free toolkit to help engage with the film topic in a healthy and productive way.
Please join us in the Loutit Lecture Hall (LTT 103) on the GVSU Allendale campus on March 20 from 5:30 - 7:30pm, for a profound (and delicate) interdisciplinary conversation on this urgent issue in American healthcare. Refreshments are provided by New City Neighbors Cafe, a local sustainable agriculture initiative.
