Delivering Net Zero and The UK Net Zero Carbon Building Standard

Is it easy to deliver Net Zero Carbon Buildings? With the recently published Version 1 of the UK Net Zero Carbon Building Standard, we will deep dive into practical examples of how we can achieve the latest goals. Hear from Jamie Oliver, CPW, who will share their experience on the University of Derby’s Cavendish Building. They will talk about their embodied carbon experience, discussing Net Zero Carbon an how they were able to guide the project to reducing carbon by over 6,000 tonnes of CO2. They will share principles of carbon offsetting and insetting and you will hear industry insights, innovation in practice, application of knowledge to real projects. Ali Brit, Arup, will share their experience in delivering buildings to achieve strict operational energy limits. They will share their experience of NABERS and energy modelling, tips, tricks and lessons to help influence early design decisions. Making early decisions will help keep long term costs down, influencing building design when it is most cost and energy effective.

Finally, we will hear about version 1 of the UK Net Zero Carbon Building Standard. When can we use it, why should we use it, how do we use it? We will make space to have interactive discussions and questions throughout.
