Welcome to the Delaware Multilingual Showcase 2025! Join us on Sat, May 17, 2025 at Delaware State University for a day filled with cultural diversity and language celebration. The event starts at 10:00 AM so make sure to arrive early to catch all the exciting performances, workshops, and activities planned for the day.

Join us for the inaugural Delaware Multilingual Showcase, a vibrant celebration of our state’s rich multilingual landscape! This free, one-of-a-kind event will shine a spotlight on the value and benefits of multilingualism, highlighting how it enriches Delaware’s economic vitality, cultural fabric, and community connections.

A schedule of engaging sessions and events will allow participants to explore how multilingualism strengthens our shared identity while honoring the many languages spoken by Delawareans. The event will feature interactive workshops, cultural storytelling read-alouds, networking opportunities, and panel discussions with local experts. Come for just one session or stay for the entire day!

Whether you're a student, professional, or community member who speaks one language, or many, this showcase promises to deepen your appreciation for the power of language in uniting and enriching our state.

Info: This session provides a state overview of what language learning and support look like in Delaware. Find out about programs that support multilingualism K-12 including immersion, world language, and multilingual learner programs.

Info: This session will focus on the benefits of bilingualism. Join us as we support families and educators in understanding the importance of learning multiple languages.

Info: Come hear from Delaware students about their journey with the Certificate of Multiliteracy. Listen as students tell you about what the Certificate of Multiliteracy is, how they worked to earn it in their district and what multilingualism means for their future.

Info: How do you nurture home language literacy before students begin school? This session will provide parents and families with strategies to create a culture of reading in the home and share ideas on how to make home language literacy a foundation for learning and reading.

Info: This session will provide students and families with information about how to continue to grow language into secondary schools through community service activities as well as summer programs at home and abroad.

Info: This session will provide a look at what the Delaware Certificate of Multiliteracy is and how students can earn it. Families, students and educators will learn how they can promote the Certificate of Multiliteracy and what they can do to support students in earning the certificate.

Info: This panel discussion will feature employers and employees from various industries and the role/value that multilingualism plays in their industry.
