Get your funny bone and heart muscles ready because they are about to get a workout!Deidre and Lisa have known each other for years but this is their first show together. They are looking forward to seeing just how much trouble they can get into in the space of a few hours.
Do join us! We ride at 3:00pm (so we can all be home before dark!).
Deidre McCalla
Deidre McCalla doesn’t merely take the stage – she owns it. Her songs embody hope and celebration, struggle, loss, and longing – sometimes all in one song!
A Black woman, mother, lesbian, feminist - Deidre McCalla has long been in the forefront of Black artists expanding the notion of how Black folk do folk. Deidre is riding high on her most recent release, ENDLESS GRACE, which dominated the June 2022 Folk Radio Charts as the #1 Album with the #1 Song – "Shoulder To The Wheel" and the #3 Song – "I Do Not Walk This Path Alone." PopMatters, Rhythms Magazine, and the Folk Alley Listener Favorites Poll ranked ENDLESS GRACE among the Ten Best Folk albums for 2022. In 2023, Deidre’s song, "Shoulder To The Wheel," won the 19th Annual International Acoustic Music Award for Best Folk/Americana/Roots Song, making Deidre the first woman to win that category in IAMA history.
Sing Out! praises Deidre as "one of our generation’s most important singer-songwriters," and the Austin-American Statesmen describes her as "a highly distinctive voice in a crowded field of contemporary folk music."
Lisa Koch
Imagine Tina Fey meets Randy Rainbow with Joan Jett guitar chops... and you’ve got singer-comedian Lisa Koch.
Twisted songs, social satire, and singing vulvas. Lisa brings the funny, with velvet pipes and razor-sharp parody. With 5 solo recordings, she is an alumnus of Seattle’s loony sketch comedy duo, Dos Fallopia (My Breasts are Out of Control), and cult quartet Venus Envy (I'll Be A Homo for Xmas). She has shared the stage with Steve Martin, Janis Ian, Lily Tomlin, Karla Bonoff, Kate Clinton, and more. Koch has been featured on Olivia and LOGO, is the composer of Off-Broadway musical “27, Rue de Fleurus,” and is proud to report that one of her songs has actually been sampled by Jay-Z.“
Be prepared to have your hair blown back by the musical comedy force that is Lisa Koch.” - LN Magazine
“Hearing Seattle’s Lisa Koch is one of life’s wickedest pleasures… her brand of absurd confessional comedy is clearly resonating with millions of fans.” - Curve Magazine
“Koch’s talents seem to know no bounds as she goes from gut-busting comedy into an introspective beautiful medley and back again…” - Broadway World
