Tapa Talks is put together by a team of volunteers at association ESA Logika. We put a lot of effort into designing these events to provide access to free education and idea-sharing space. We appreciate your support by consuming something at the venue, as this enables us to keep hosting these events for Barcelona's community.

This event also includes a 🌱Swap Shop🌱:
To encourage circular economy - Bring your pre-loved items like a book, a mug, or a painting with you and give your items an opportunity to find a new home. They will be laid out on a table during the mid-event break for everyone to see and pick! (No clothing please, but accessories are more than welcome) What a great way to reduce waste!

This month, we will unpack the terms 'Cleantech', 'Greentech' and 'Climate tech', discuss what they represent, how much money goes into developing such technologies, why governments and businesses want to show you that they have a stamp of approval, and why the climate change challenge remains unresolved, despite all the tech out there. We'll also discuss what type of cleantech solutions you should be aware of in Spain, particularly in Barcelona, so you can be well-informed when engaging our political actors.

Our speaker, Alexander Crutchfield is a researcher and journalist focused on climate, energy, and sustainability. His work spans investigative reporting, policy research, and strategic analysis for public and private outlets such as The Energy Pioneer, the United Nations Industrial Development Organization, the Spanish Royal Institute of European Studies, etc.

The talk will begin at 19:00 sharp, please aim to arrive at 18:45 to have time to check-in at the entrance and grab your consumption ticket 😊

Permaculture Barcelona Hub will host a wonderful Sant Joan Afterparty, which starts at 21:30. Stay to enjoy a delicious "Syrizuela" fusion cuisine dinner from the Hub catering crew: Abbas and Made, whose solidarity-based culinary project represents the culture of Syria and Venezuela. Ecological drinks such as Km0 organic beer will be served. You will also get a great view of the fireworks and enjoy an alternative way to celebrate Sant Joan…you won’t be on the beach but great music and vibes will be provided!
