About this Event
The series of shotguns courses that I teach have a flow, based on what a multi-day training experience would look like. This material is what would come after Core Concepts, Movement Clinic, and Basic Operator courses. Attendees should have some previous formal training on the shotgun in order to be able to best absorb the course material. Primary focus will be on shooting on the move, running the shotgun off the support side shoulder, use of cover, and transitioning to secondary firearms. You will need the following equipment for this course.
- A reliable 12ga or 20ga shotgun (a second, backup shotgun is not a bad idea).
- A reliable, high quality handgun and an appropriate holster for its use.
- A minimum of 3 magazines for said high quality handgun.
- Electronic hearing protection, and range appropriate eye protection.
- Weather appropriate clothing. It is Arkansas, in June, it will be hot. Probably.
- A sling is highly recommended, but not required.
- A camp chair or similar will be helpful.
- Liquid hydration of your preference, and snacks, lunch, etc.
This will be a very fast paced class, so bring what you need to run a pretty steady pace of shooting for an 8-10 hour day. You will also need the following ammunition.
- 100 rounds of birdshot
- 100 rounds of buckshot
- 50 rounds of slug
- 250 rounds of the appropriate caliber for your pistol
See you on the range.
