Why We Created This Couples Workshop: A Heartfelt Story from Rachel & Nathalie
Let’s be real for a moment… relationships can be hard! Sure, there are the beautiful moments—laughing over inside jokes, finishing each other’s sentences, and those times when you’re both just perfectly in sync. But there are also the “other” moments. You know, the ones where you’re staring at your partner, wondering how they could possibly misunderstand you this much, or when a simple conversation about the laundry somehow turns into a debate on life values. (Trust us, we’ve been there too!)
So, what’s the difference between staying stuck in those moments and growing from them? Connection. And here’s the thing: most of us aren’t taught how to truly connect with our partner in ways that go beyond the surface. We’re left fumbling, trying to figure out how to communicate effectively, how to regulate our own emotions (while not completely losing it), and how to keep intimacy alive, even when life gets messy.
That’s exactly why we decided to create this Couples Workshop—because we’ve been through our own journeys of finding and losing connection. We’re both VITA Coaches and have spent years learning, practicing, and yes, sometimes failing to figure this stuff out. And we want to share those lessons with you.
We didn’t want this to be just another relationship workshop where you sit back and listen to theory all day. We wanted it to be fun, engaging, and full of those “aha” moments that you and your partner can take home and actually apply to your life. This is a day designed for couples like you who want to reconnect, renew, and (re)discover the kind of love that brought you together in the first place.
So what can you expect from this workshop?
Practical Tools for Real Life Situations:
Ever notice how some conversations with your partner go off the rails quickly? We’ll show you why that happens, diving into the science of your nervous system (yep, science can be sexy!) and how understanding your body’s reactions can help you both feel more connected.
We’ll teach you tools to help when one of you feels overwhelmed (aka, stuck in “the red zone”), so instead of spiraling into frustration or silence, you can help each other feel safe and calm again. Imagine being able to say, “Oh, honey, you’re in your orange zone. Let’s breathe together for a minute,” rather than going straight into a fight.
Laughter & Play, Because Yes, That’s Important Too: No one said deepening your relationship has to be all serious, right? In fact, laughter and play are powerful connectors. So, we’re including some light-hearted activities—like a blindfold game (don’t worry, nothing too wild )—to help you explore physical connection in new, fun ways. You’ll also practice saying things like “What would make this even nicer for you?” because, hey, we all deserve a bit of tender attention!
Communication Tools that Actually Work:
Have you ever been in the middle of a conversation, and halfway through, you realize neither of you is actually listening? Yeah, we get it. We’re going to guide you through exercises to break those old patterns, helping you learn how to listen not just to each other’s words, but to each other’s bodies and emotions, too. It's amazing how much more you can understand when you pause, breathe, and really listen.
A Safe, Supportive Space:
This is a small, intimate workshop, so you won’t be just another face in the crowd. With only six couples, you’ll get to dive deep, share openly, and feel supported not just by us, but by the other couples who are here for the same reason—to grow and learn together.
And honestly? You’ll also get to see that you’re not alone in your struggles. Sometimes, just hearing another couple say, “Oh, you argue about that too?!” can bring a huge sense of relief and even a chuckle. We’re all human, after all!
