About this Event
As part of Obsesión! Labor as Pleasure, artist Jessica Lagunas invites you to a two-hour hands-on embroidery workshop exploring how slow, decorative stitching—particularly the French knot—can become a meditative and powerful act of storytelling. Participants will learn decorative embroidery techniques, with a focus on the French knot, just as Lagunas meticulously hand-embroidered hundreds of feathers onto silk organza, honoring indigenous traditions while reclaiming colonial histories. No prior embroidery experience is required, participants may bring a piece of clothing or textile they wish to embellish—all levels are welcome.
