Deck the Halls... But know what you're bringing in!
About this Event
Evergreens have decorated our homes for centuries, but not every green sprig is as harmless as it looks. Join us for a festive, hands-on look at the traditional holiday greens that deserve a second glance before they go on the mantel, wreath, or table.
We’ll meet the familiar cast of seasonal characters, including holly, mistletoe, yew, ivy, boxwood, and juniper, and learn which parts are toxic, who is most at risk (curious kids and nibbling pets especially), and what symptoms to watch for. We’ll also bust a few popular myths, like the poinsettia’s undeserved deadly reputation, and talk about safe, beautiful alternatives and smart placement tips so your home can be merry and safe.
You’ll leave with a handy “good, bad, and keep-out-of-reach” cheat sheet, ideas for decorating with confidence, and a clear idea of what to do if someone takes a nibble. Bring your questions and your favorite holiday decorating traditions. Cocoa and good cheer included!
Registration required. Ticket sales end Tuesday 12/8 at 4:00 PM.
