Join us for Decision Day at Illinois Aviation Academy, an event designed for prospective students who are considering IAA and want a closer look before making their decision.

During the event, you’ll have the opportunity to visit our location at the DuPage Airport, meet members of the IAA team, learn more about the pilot training experience, speak to our team about the Atlas Cadet Academy and ask questions about getting started.


What to Expect
  • Speak with Certified Flight Instructors about the training experience
  • Get a better idea of what flying with an instructor could feel like as a student
  • Tour training aircraft when available
  • Explore the facility and training environment
  • Meet staff and ask questions about next steps
  • Learn more about the pilot training process and part 141 vs part 61 training
  • Ask questions about training, scheduling, financing options, and next steps
  • Learn what to expect as you prepare to begin pilot training

Whether you are starting class soon or still exploring flight training, this event is a relaxed way to visit the facility, bring your support system with you and get a closer look at your potential training environment.

More About The Atlas Cadet Academy

The Academy trains for 6 certifications and ratings, professional development, immersive Atlas experience, as well as Certified Flight Instructor and high-performance aircraft time building.

Throughout the journey, cadets will get to know Atlas Air's dynamic and global culture, both in-person and through an exclusive online community. The Atlas Cadet Academy is in West Chicago at DuPage Airport (KDPA). Part 141 training is provided by Illinois Aviation Academy.

Located in West Chicago, IL, at DuPage Airport (KDPA), the Illinois Aviation Academy (IAA) is a part of Spartan Education Group, LLC, and has been training pilots for three decades. Today, IAA's training facility spans 30,000 square feet and houses a fleet of over twenty-five aircraft, including the Cessna 172s and Piper Aztecs. IAA provides FAA-approved Part 141 flight training and is a proud partner of Atlas Air Worldwide. Spartan Education Group also owns Spartan College of Aeronautics and Technology and is proud to have trained pilots and technicians for over 95 years.
