With the holidays upon us and schedules getting hectic, we'll only be able to meet once more for 2024. But—we have chosen a wonderful selection for our last read of the year: The Valancourt Book of Victorian Christmas Ghost Stories, Volume 1, edited by Tara Moore, featuring some of our favorite Scottish writers like Sir Walter Scott and Arthur Conan Doyle. However you celebrate the end-of-the year season, these spooky tales are sure to entertain. From the book's description: "During the Victorian era, it became tradition for publishers of newspapers and magazines to print ghost stories during the Christmas season for chilling winter reading by the fireside or candlelight."
